Vitruvian Collection "Peace" Sculpture Art Decor
The Vitruvian Collection is a series of sculptures that celebrate the human form as well as the human spirit. Inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, each sculpture is individually hand cast and hand finished by experienced artisans.
The peace sign is believed to have begun in Europe during World War II, when a "V" for victory was painted on walls and buildings as a symbol of freedom from occupying armies. During the '60's and '70's, the symbol was popularized as a had gesture, using the index and middle fingers, indicating a person's hope for peace, truth and victory. This cold cast resin statue is of a hand forming a peace sign. Measuring 14 1/2 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches deep, the white hand really stands out from the heavy black base, and shows wonderful detail. The statue is a great conversation starter, and is sure to attract attention.
