Hachiman Shinto God Of War Statue Bosatsu Peace
Hachiman is the Shinto god of war, and divine protector of Japan and the Japanese people. To Buddhists, Hachiman is viewed as a Bosatsu, or a Buddha to be. He is also regarded as a protector of children, a God of Peace and was worshiped by farmers and fishermen, in hopes of a bountiful harvest.
This cold cast resin statue of Hachiman seated upon a lotus flower is 5 1/2 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches deep. The statue shows excellent detailing in Hachiman's robes and on the petals of the lotus flower. He comes with a small staff that should be placed in the hole through his right hand.
